Companions and training
Everyday controls
F6 opens the pet radial by default; F7 toggles the HUD. Select an owned pet, wake/call it and choose actions from the radial. The menu includes follow, stay, go to a point, attack, sit, beg, lie down, bark and paw where that breed supports them. Utility actions include sending home, carrying/putting down, leash handling, vehicle seating and cancelling an emote. Available actions depend on the dog's current state and animation group.
The leash attaches to a nearby eligible dog and uses the shipped hand prop. Vehicle seating requires a suitable nearby vehicle and available configured seat. Carry, leash, feeding, toys, service work and duel states restrict conflicting actions; finish the current activity before starting another one.
Obedience scores
Each trainable action has its own score. A score of 10 means a 10% chance to obey that request, not one guaranteed success in ten attempts. Follow and Stay therefore train independently. The default range is 10–100.
| Rule | Default |
|---|---|
| Initial score | 10 |
| Obey, then give a treat within the reward window | +5 points |
| Refuse, then give a treat | −10 points |
| Obey but leave the window unrewarded | −2 points |
| Reward window | 120 seconds |
| Cooldown across trainable commands and all owned pets | 5 seconds |
| Online inactivity decay | −1 point per unused 30-minute interval |
Using pet_treat from the inventory settles the pending reward and consumes one item after server validation. It also adds 5 hunger points, capped at 100. A rejected command on cooldown does not settle the previous window; a new accepted command does. Offline time does not advance training decay. Wake, send home, carry, emote cancellation and menu navigation do not use an obedience roll.
Scores and reward state persist with the pet. Staff can use /maxpettraining for an authorized test; it does not grant service-dog qualifications. Configure Training and control bindings in Configuration.
