Common problems
Start sky_base first, enable OneSync, and confirm the deployed resource folder is named sky_pets. Read the first server error before investigating follow-up errors.
Check the database provider configured in sky_base, SQL user privileges, and Config.AutoExecuteQuery. When automatic pet-data migration is disabled, import the current import.sql. Preserve existing owned-pet tables during updates.
The shipped cashier is inside the Vinewood MLO at vector3(-169.0462, 226.0295, 92.27), with a 2.5 m interaction range. Confirm stream/Petshop is installed, check the NPC and interaction in FiveM, and inspect client F8 output. Saved /petsconfig shop and supplies locations override the Lua defaults; update both entries or restart and run /petsconfig import after reviewing other managed settings.
Read the exact model or animation error in F8. Verify the selected breed's model loads and renders in FiveM, the client has streamed the files, and the configured preview and camera points are inside the MLO. An asset or browser preview does not verify a streamed PED.
Check player distance from the cashier, available breed, valid coat and collar, name length, configured payment account, and server SQL log. The server determines and validates the price; client input cannot set it.
Confirm its inventory ID and client.event, the selected awake pet is nearby, and the inventory contains the required item. For ox_inventory, the item definition must use consume = 0 because Sky Pets removes the item after validating the action.
Enable Config.UseIngameConfigurator and check the sky_pets.petsconfig permission through your sky_base groups. Restart after changing file-based permission settings.
Check the configured framework job key, duty state, the dog's qualification, and the relevant item or scent provider. Medical actions may also require an optional medical provider.
Check the saved access grant or command permission. The player must be alive and on foot, with no other player inside the configured safety radius.
The server settles growth every five minutes; an active ready puppy also converts on its next call. If the adult target model is missing, conversion is deferred.
Diagnostic commands
Authorized staff can run /sky_pets_peddebug on, reproduce a model or animation problem, inspect F8, then run /sky_pets_peddebug off. /sky_pets_peddiag prints nearby and companion state. For a visual duel issue, use a clear level area and two clients; /petfighttest uses a separate NPC path and /petfightdebug is a local animation studio.
Update checklist
- Back up customized config files and the pet database before updating.
- Keep the included stream/Petshop files and recheck saved shop and supplies locations.
- Confirm inventory IDs and consume = 0 still match your provider.
- Re-test a purchase, one consumable, pet persistence after reconnect, and a duel with two clients.
Support
Include the resource revision, breed, reproduction steps, and relevant server and F8 errors in a support report. Omit passwords and database credentials.
