Clubs and placement
Create a club
Open /djadmin with an authorized account and choose Clubs. Create a club, give it a recognizable name and configure its DJ job and minimum grade. The all-players option permits player operation of that club; it does not grant global administration or library-management rights.
Place the DJ interaction position and at least one speaker. Assign a playlist from the music library, then save the club. Check the result with a regular DJ account as well as an administrator. Operators must be near the relevant console and in the club's routing bucket.
The optional fixed festival is managed separately and does not consume a normal club slot. Changing or disabling it does not delete your own clubs.
Club settings
| Setting | Starting value or accepted range | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Club name | Required; up to 60 characters | The name shown to administrators and DJs |
| DJ access | New drafts start with Admins only | Choose an ESX job, All players, or administration-only operation |
| Minimum job rank | New drafts start at 0; valid ranks 0–100 | For a named job, the player needs that job and at least this grade; the selected grade must exist in ESX |
| Range per speaker | New drafts start at 35 m; 5 m to the active global maximum | Fallback listening radius for outputs without their own range |
| Start volume | New drafts start at 55%, reduced if the global maximum is lower | The club's saved main master level; saving the club applies it to the running session too |
| DJ booth position | Must be placed | Where players open and operate this club's mixer |
| Playlist assignments | Select the playlists this club may use | Restricts the tracks available to the club's decks; assigning a playlist does not start playback |
These are starting values for a new editor draft, not replacements for saved club settings. The active global range ceiling ships at 150 m and the volume ceiling at 200%; an administrator can change those limits in Configuration. A higher ceiling does not raise existing clubs automatically.
The server saves the club in the administrator's current routing bucket. There is no separate bucket-number input in this editor. Create and edit the club in its intended instance; players in another bucket cannot operate or hear it through that club. The fixed festival uses bucket 0 and keeps its authored DJ position.
Access and placement checklist
- Choose access deliberately: Admins only for setup, a real job/grade for staff, or All players for public operation.
- Set the DJ position in the intended routing bucket.
- Place at least one speaker and face it toward the listening area.
- Assign an existing playlist. A saved club can exist without an assignment, but its decks cannot load that library until one is assigned.
- Save, reopen the club and test it using a non-admin account with the intended job and grade.
Every speaker must be within 150 m of the DJ position. Saved light/effect devices also have a 150 m placement limit; moving the DJ position can therefore require moving existing devices first. Increasing the audible range ceiling does not increase this placement distance.
Place speakers and equipment
Select the club before opening its speaker or Lights & effects editor. Choose a model from the dropdown; preview thumbnails appear inside the open model menu. Place or edit the selected object using its actual 3D preview.
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
WASD | Move the placement camera |
Space / Ctrl | Raise or lower the camera |
Shift | Move faster |
| Hold right mouse | Look around |
| Drag with left mouse | Move the highlighted axis or rotation ring |
R | Switch between movement and rotation |
Q | Switch world and object axes |
G | Snap the object to ground |
Enter | Accept placement |
Backspace | Cancel placement |
Check the front of a speaker before accepting: its orientation affects directional sound. Equipment should sit on a supported surface, with flame and CO₂ nozzles clear of nearby geometry. Use rotation rings for truss-mounted devices rather than compensating with a floating position.
Save the club after changing its DJ position, speakers or room. Prop/device layout changes use their own save actions. Accepting a gizmo preview alone is not a substitute for the editor's save action.
Choose spatial behavior
Spatial audio is enabled for a newly placed speaker unless you switch it off. It adds distance attenuation, cabinet direction and stereo positioning. Subwoofer-role outputs radiate around the cabinet rather than using the directional mid/high cone.
Disabling spatial audio removes that directional and gradual distance behavior inside the listening area. It does not remove the configured range limit, routing bucket, output mute or room filtering. Use this deliberately for uniform playback in a small room, rather than to compensate for a speaker facing the wrong way.
Model, position, rotation, role and the spatial switch belong to the club layout. The model dropdown contains only the assets available in the installed package; a preview image does not install a missing custom model.
Speaker roles and outputs
Each ordinary club supports up to 16 saved speaker outputs. Set each speaker's level, mute, range, role and output bus in Audio & system.
| Role | Starting frequency range |
|---|---|
| Wideband | 20–20000 Hz |
| Subwoofer | 30–120 Hz |
| Bass/midrange | 120–2500 Hz |
| Tweeter | 2500–15000 Hz |
| Original sound / full track | Complete decoded track without the speaker crossover split |
High-pass and low-pass filters
For ordinary tunable roles, High-pass / Hz removes frequencies below its value, while Low-pass / Hz removes frequencies above its value. These controls shape an output; they do not change the source file or other speakers.
| Filter | Accepted range | Practical use |
|---|---|---|
| High-pass | 20–18000 Hz | Keep deep bass out of smaller cabinets, or define the lower edge of a mid/high output |
| Low-pass | 40–20000 Hz | Keep high frequencies out of a subwoofer, or define the upper edge of another output |
The low-pass value must be at least 1.25 × the high-pass value. Changing a role loads that role's starting frequency limits. Original sound / full track hides the crossover controls and bypasses the speaker frequency split and main speaker compressor; deck EQ, routing, range and room behavior still apply.
Supported array models use their supplied bass and mid/high branches with a 120 Hz crossover. Their role and crossover are fixed, rather than freely tunable through these fields. One array remains one saved speaker output even when it has multiple internal branches.
Outdoor speaker bypasses building attenuation. It still respects speaker level, range and directional/spatial behavior. Use it deliberately for an outdoor system rather than to hide an incorrect room boundary.
Name, level, mute, output bus, range and electronic delay are explained under Speakers and output delays. These output changes save separately from an unsaved club-layout draft.
Define the room
The club's Building & external attenuation settings describe where indoor sound should be heard. This is a saved audio boundary, not automatic detection of walls or doors in a map.
For a rectangular room, set width, depth, height, rotation and transition width. Use the in-game centre placement, confirm it, then save the club. The placement's floor is based on the player's height; the saved centre is raised by half the room height.
For an irregular room, choose the polygon option and place 3–32 ordered corner points. E adds a point, Backspace removes the last point, Enter finishes and Esc cancels. Page Up/Down adjusts height. Avoid crossing polygon edges. Save the club after accepting the boundary.
Rectangular rooms support configurable exterior level, low-pass filtering and a soft transition. Polygon rooms fade indoor outputs toward silence at the outline and also respect height. Explicit outdoor outputs remain outside that insulation behavior.
Room dimensions and transition
The following starting values appear when no room has been saved. Building separation starts disabled; place the room, enable the switch and save the club to apply it.
| Setting | New-room starting value | Accepted range and consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Room shape | Rectangle | Choose a rotated rectangle or a custom polygon |
| Building separation active | Off | Enables the saved boundary's attenuation and filtering |
| Width / Depth | 30 m each | 2–300 m; rectangular footprint dimensions |
| Height | 12 m | 2–100 m; vertical extent of either room shape |
| Rotation | 0° | 0–360°; rotates a rectangular footprint around its centre |
| Transition width | 3 m | 0.5–20 m; a larger value makes the boundary fade more gradual |
| Centre / outline | Not placed | Rectangle requires a centre; polygon requires its accepted outline |
A rectangular transition spans its wall edge. A polygon fades from the inside toward silence at its outline, and indoor outputs are silent beyond its height. Polygon width and depth are derived from the points; the rectangle-only dimension, rotation and exterior controls are hidden for that shape.
Rectangular room exterior settings
These settings apply to indoor outputs when the listener moves outside a rectangular room. Percentages describe gain controls, not a measured sound-pressure level.
| Setting | New-room starting value | Accepted range and consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Outdoor level | 15% | 0–100%; remaining level of indoor non-sub outputs outside the room |
| Bass outside | 35% | 0–100%; separate remaining level for indoor subwoofer-role outputs |
| Combined outdoor subwoofer boost | 35% | 0–50%; adds a bounded boost as more indoor subs are audible outside; 0% disables the boost |
| Outdoor low-pass | 600 Hz | 80–20000 Hz; lower values make the exterior sound more muffled |
Start with a small exterior level and a moderate low-pass, then walk through each entrance. Increase Bass outside when you want bass to carry beyond the walls without also raising the mid/high outputs. Increasing the combined-sub boost does not add physical speakers or model acoustic phase cancellation.
For a strict room outline, use a polygon. Its indoor outputs fade to silence outside instead of retaining these rectangular exterior levels. Use explicitly outdoor speakers when part of the venue should remain audible outside either boundary.
Saving and later edits
The room, playlist assignments, DJ position and speaker placement are stored with Save club. Confirming the centre, outline or a gizmo preview updates the draft first. Disabling building separation retains the saved room settings so you can enable them again; deleting the club removes that club's saved layout.
Keep layout editing and live output tuning separate: saving an older club draft after another operator changes an output can produce a revision conflict. Reload first instead of discarding newer settings.
Verify the layout
Walk through the room, its entrances, speaker fronts and speaker backs. Listen while crossing the audio boundary in both directions. Check another routing bucket, reconnect, then reopen the editor to confirm positions and settings persisted.
Remove unused decorative and effect props through their editor. Do not add a second copy of the festival map or a duplicate resource to obtain missing equipment; use Troubleshooting.
