BlackBay Market
What players can do
BlackBay lets Crime members sell goods, post buy requests, arrange trades in chat, and exchange items at meetings or dead drops. You can also add NPC buyers and sellers. Configured police groups have access for investigations.
Trading uses each player's own in-game coin wallet, separate from organization funds. Its default currency name is XMR; you do not need an external cryptocurrency service.
Set up the market
Enable the tablet app
Open /jobconfig → Crime System → Darknet Market and enable it. Check that a regular Crime member can open BlackBay on the shared tablet.
Choose the exchange rates
Set which player account buys and receives money from coins. The default is cash: one coin costs 100 to buy and pays 80 when sold back. New accounts start with no coins.
Keep the exchange available for your first test. If you disable it later, players need another way to obtain coins before they can buy goods.
Add NPC offers
The supplied NPC traders list is empty. Add an enabled trader with a unique ID, offer title, exact inventory item name, visible item label, quantity, unit price, and delivery method. A seller provides goods to players; a buyer purchases goods from them. Make sure the item exists in your inventory.
Keep the supplied seller and buyer alias lists, or provide at least two different names in each list you use. Review the minimum and maximum active NPC offers. These numbers select from your configured traders; raising them does not create new trader definitions.
Check delivery locations
Under Handover locations, keep at least two meeting locations and two dead-drop locations. Visit them to check that players can reach them on your map. NPC trades use these pools; player trades use the locations shared in their chat.
Save and try a small trade
For a predictable first trade, set both the overall NPC scam chance and the individual trader's scam chance to 0. Setting only one to 0 does not disable the other. Save the configurator changes.
First trade example
Create an NPC seller for empty_baggy, quantity 5, unit price 1, with face-to-face delivery. Use a member with inventory space and at least 500 cash at the default exchange rate.
- Open BlackBay on the tablet and create an account with a private username and password. Keep those credentials for later sign-ins; other traders see a separate public alias.
- Open Account → Buy and sell coins and use Buy coins to buy 5 coins. Check that cash falls by 500 and the wallet gains 5 coins.
- In Market, open your NPC offer, choose Contact trader, then Propose trade for 5 items. Check that the total is 5 coins.
- Follow the accepted trade in Chats, set a waypoint, and meet the trader. Choose Complete handover when close enough.
- Check that the player receives 5 bags and pays 5 coins. Repeat with a dead-drop offer after the meeting trade works.
How players make a trade
To post their own listing, players choose Market → Create offer and select Sell goods or Buy goods. The other player opens the offer, chooses Contact trader, and proposes a quantity and delivery method. The other party accepts in the chat before payment and handover continue.
| Delivery | What players do |
|---|---|
| Face-to-face | For player trades, use Share my meeting point. Both parties bring their goods or coins, meet there, and choose Complete handover. The default handover distance is 3 metres. |
| Dead drop | The seller places the goods using Share my location and place drop. The buyer follows the chat's payment and collection instructions. A prepaid order requires payment before its location is revealed. |
For a normal sale offer, the seller must have the advertised items. Keep inventory capacity in mind during the handover.
Offers expire after 72 hours by default and can be renewed. Players can leave ratings after trades. If you enable NPC scams, failed deliveries can be part of the configured gameplay; explain that risk to your players.
Police access
Configured police groups can use investigation tools and bait offers. Check your police group names and test access with an officer and a Crime member.
Quick test
- A member can register, sign in, buy coins, and sell coins.
- Your NPC offer appears with the intended item and price.
- A meeting trade and a dead-drop trade transfer the expected goods and money once.
- Missing items, insufficient money, and a full inventory prevent the trade from completing incorrectly.
- The intended police group can open its investigation view.
See Gangs and Membership for access setup or Troubleshooting for failed trades.
