Workshop Setup

Place and verify the interactions used by mechanic workshops.

Before placing points

Configure the mechanic job in /jobconfig first. Workshop points are connected to the configured job and enabled features, so changing the setup first prevents unused or missing interactions.

Open the editor with /workshopcreator. Administrator access is controlled through the shared permission system.

Placement guidance

Self-service tuning

Place the point where a vehicle can remain level and accessible. Leave enough room for the camera and mechanic workflow. Decide whether the point is public, unique, marker-based, and visible on the map.

When workshop enforcement is enabled, installations or removals must remain within the configured distance of a self-service tuning point.

Engine hoist

Place the point near the front working area of the vehicle. Avoid walls, doors, and narrow ramps that can obstruct the prop or player movement.

Workshop lift

Place the point at the center of the platform and leave standing room on both sides. The advanced configuration can use the included lift models, configured model sets, or compatible lift props already present in an MLO or YMAP.

Automatic MLO lift discovery can find supported nearby model pairs without spawning duplicate lift objects. Test every custom lift model before opening the workshop to players.

Parts delivery

Every workshop that orders parts needs a reachable delivery point. Leave enough clear floor space for boxes or pallets and keep the interaction accessible when a delivery prop is present.

Stolen parts dealer

Place the dealer in a location where its configured NPC, marker, or interaction can load safely. The dealer can be public and does not need to belong to a mechanic workshop.

Verification checklist

  • The point is assigned to the intended mechanic job.
  • Its marker, NPC, blip, and public setting match the desired behavior.
  • Vehicles can enter and leave the work area.
  • Lift and hoist props do not collide with the MLO.
  • Parts deliveries have enough space to spawn and be collected.
  • Workshop-restricted installs work inside the area and fail outside it.
  • Restarting the server preserves all creator points.
