Configuration

Choose the source of global settings, configure integrations, and understand which changes affect existing activities.

Paths on this page are relative to the installed sky_activities resource.

Choose the settings source

Config.UseActivitiesConfig in config/config.lua selects the source of global operator settings:

ValueEffective settingsHow to change them
true — defaultSaved database values over the shipped defaults/activitiesconfig → General settings
falseOperator values in config/config.luaEdit Lua and restart the resource

In editor mode, the operator values lower down in config/config.lua are ignored. In Lua mode, global settings in the editor are read-only and stored global settings are left intact. Switching back to editor mode uses those stored values again. Restart after changing the source switch.

The activity, arena and track editor remains available in both modes. Each saved activity has its own rules. Changing defaults for new activities does not change existing definitions; edit those definitions directly.

Configuration files

FileWhat to configure
config/config.luaSettings source, startup options and Lua-mode operator values
config/bowling.luaBowling venue geometry, required map resources and resource-name overrides
config/karting_server.luaOptional server-only kart results Discord integration
config/locales/de.lua, config/locales/en.luaPlayer-facing text
editable-textures/signage/catalogue.csvSign text, texture names and the YTD files to edit

Keep Discord webhook credentials in the server-only configuration. Fixed Sky models and authored course data are part of the supplied implementation; use the editor or the documented bowling configuration for customer locations.

Options that always come from Lua

These startup/integration options remain in config/config.lua regardless of the settings source:

  • Locale, AdminCommand, PlayerCommand, LeaveCommand, TestCommand.
  • AdminGroups and AdminAce.
  • InventoryHooks, BucketStart and BucketCount.
  • VenueScreens.iceServers.

Restart after editing them. InventoryHooks = "auto" detects ox_inventory or qb-inventory; explicit choices are "ox", "qb" and "none". These hooks prevent inventory item use during activities. Choosing none disables this integration, so check the resulting interaction with your inventory.

Global operator settings

General settings include activity switches, default match rules, allowed arena props and kart models, weapon behavior, paint grenades, powerups, kart options, audio and venue screens. Sports.automatic controls discovery of supported existing billiard tables and dartboards.

EnableBowling controls bowling as a whole. BowlingLocations.<id> controls each hall. In editor mode these are saved through the Bowling settings group; in Lua mode they come from config/config.lua. The geometry and resources lists in config/bowling.lua are installation data in both modes. See Bowling MLOs.

Most saved global settings apply after saving. InstallVenuePresets takes effect on the next resource start. Existing matches use their session rules; test changed rules in a newly started game.

Weather and time

Sky Base owns the local weather/time integration. Select the provider with Config.weather in sky_base/config/config.lua. "auto" detects esx_weather, Kibook's weathersync, Renewed-Weathersync, qb-weathersync or cd_easytime, and uses natives when no supported provider is found. QB and CD need the provider changes in the Sky Base weather tutorial.

Activities keeps Environment.enabled in its operator settings. The center uses local 12:00 / CLEAR; lasertag, paintball, karting and blacklight minigolf use 00:00 / CLEAR. Leaving releases the override through Sky Base.

When updating, move the former Activities Environment.provider selection to Base's Config.weather and any customer adapter to sky_base/config/integration/weather/custom.lua. Activities no longer loads config/environment.lua. Update Base and Activities together; check restoration as well as entry.

Updates and backups

Keep copies of your configuration, database tables, custom map resources, edited YTDs and any bowling map exclusions. Merge configuration changes when updating instead of overwriting new fields with an old file.

Activities uses /activitiesconfig; there is no Activities /jobconfig section.
